OUR TRAINING
All our psychologists have specialised training. Specialised training involves 4 years undergraduate study, followed by 2 years postgraduate training and an additional 2 years supervised work in a given field of psychology. We have psychologists specially trained in the areas of clinical psychology, neuropsychology, counselling and forensic psychology.
WHY IS CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY DIFFERENT?
Clinical psychology is a specialised part of psychological science. Clinical psychologists are trained in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of various psychological disorders. Clinical psychologists work with the following difficulties: Depression, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Adjustment Disorders, Sexual Disfunction, Eating Disorder, Alcohol and Drug use Disorder, Psychotic Disorders, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Sleep Difficulties, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Realtionship Difficulties.
Most clinical psychologists are members of the Australian Psychological Society's Clinical College. Professionals with clinical college membership will indicate this. Similarly, the use of the title "clinical psychologist" is restricted to those who completed the required training and are approved by the college.
